From the Trainer

Picture
As an animal lover with a passion for dog training, I understand the importance of meeting customer needs when it comes to man's best friend. I have experience in training since childhood, and consequently an understanding of canine psychology and needs. I strive to merge the needs of customer and canine by passing on my knowledge, providing satisfaction and happiness for both canine and human with training.

I currently own two Belgian Malinois and I love being able to take dogs anywhere with me because of the training. Dog training is a lifestyle that enhances the quality of life.I train to spread awareness of the importance of a healthy relationship with our dogs. I train to keep them safe and provide a means of understanding between human and canine worlds. I train so that the companions in our lives can live up to their potential by being able to participate in our lives.

I am also a Certified Reiki Master and Bioenergy Therapy practitioner which can be used to help treat a variety of ailments in dogs. The practices involve balancing the energetical body of animals and humans to aid healing and bring serenity. If you would like to know more, please contact me.

Ultimately, I pride myself in dedication to my customers and their dogs' health and happiness.

How it works

Obraz
The training process allows for behavior to be taught through commands transforming an untrained dog to a well-mannered one. A variety of commands and activities can stimulate a dog's mind, teaching the dog to think rather than react impulsively.

Most behavioral issues can be solved by becoming a good leader. Trust is key; your dog should trust you. Since dogs have a similar "pack mentality" as that of a wolf, humans should take the role of an alpha (or pack leader) to make their dog feel safe. This does not mean you have to eat first, growl or alpha roll! Just be confident, give direction and provide safety.

Upon receiving a true leader, many behavioral problems become nonexistent because the canine begins to feel secure. When a dog is in a pack without a strong leader, the dog will naturally assume the role of alpha taking on the pressures that come with leading a pack. Alpha protects territory, himself and other pack members. Carrying this weight, dogs become aggressive or display many other destructive, nervous, or territorial behaviors.

In a leadership alpha position, training always has to be fair and consequential. A true leader is always fair, and dogs understand the difference responding accordingly with their natural instincts. Through leadership we can shape the mindset of a dog communicating the appropriate behavior we expect, which transfers over to a new lifestyle with dogs in general. Dog training is a lifestyle that holds true in both work and play.

A quote to live by...

"From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise." "Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. "Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.

Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a human."

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog." just smile, because they "just don't understand." "
